Hysteroscopy update

Well the cost of me going to the hospital to have the hysteroscopy is way to much. So now I need to wait to to hear back from the agency on an office in CA for me to travel to. Since my work schedule is very full for the month of December I need to wait till January for the next step.

I have also been told that their are intended parents that are interested in my profile, which is very excited! Hopefully I will be matched very soon!

Nov 13th. Happy Birthday baby boy

Today marks such a beautiful day, when I gave birth to a baby that was not mine. I made two people dreams come true. After waiting 25 years, I helped give them such a beautiful gift. I was able to be a surrogate and help a family grow. How I wish you such a Happy Birthday little Itay. I am sure you have brought so much happiness to your Mom and Dad's life. I just thank you for letting me be apart of bringing you in to our world.

The day I gave birth to this little boy, showed me just how strong I could be. I know most people ask How could you give him away. Well he was not mine to give away. I gave him back. You might be asking what this means. I was only borrowing him, his parents trusted me to carrying and keep him safe till the day they could have him. Yes, I miss him and his parents and wish them nothing but happiness. I am so thankful for being apart of such a wonderful thing. Being apart of something like surrogacy has taught me so much about who I am. It has helped me to always reach for more and never give up on what I want. I went through so much  in 3 years, that some go through for so many more years. I am just so happy I was able to stay strong and push through what seemed so impossible. For those that have struggled with something like fertility, I give you a hug and tell you how sorry I am, There should never be a struggle like this. I would have never been able to understand just how hard this could truly be.

Happy Birthday not just to Itay, but to all babies born through surrogacy. And a huge Thank you to all surrogates and what we go through to help dreams come true!! 

The 1st step to my next Journey

I would like to share with everyone that I am waiting to be matched with the next couple that I hope to help give them a baby. 

First I wanted to share with you all what I am in the process of doing for my 2nd surrogacy. I have to have a hysteroscopy done. This is a procedure that lets the doctor look into my uterus, I seen my Ob this last week and now I am waiting to go to the hospital and have this done. I did not have to have it done with my 1st journey. So this is very new to me. I am learning about it. I think that I should share this with anyone that would like to know more of just what surrogates do or just to help teach someone that is wanting to be a surrogate and  to help them clearly understand what might be asked of you.  I am not trying to turn anyone away from surrogacy, I wish someone would have helped me to really understand what I could be getting into, I am a very proud surrogate and am willing to help anyone to being a surrogate. I did so much research and read so many blogs and which some blogs were sad and some were happy. Not many broke down in detail what it is that is asked of us. So I thought I would explain a little about this 1st procedure that I have to do. What I was told by my Ob at my counsel was that I will need to go to the hospital and be placed under a local anesthesia. This is an outpatient procedure. I am waiting on a call from the scheduling department to set up a time for me to go in and get this done. He assure me that it is a simple thing and not to worry. He told me that is shouldn't take more than 10 min. He will place a very small camera in my vagina and through my cervix  and take some pictures. He told me that it is better to do the procedure with anesthesia for it can be painful and uncomfortable. Yes I am a little nervous, only because I have have never done this, but I am sure everything will be fine. I posted some links for you to get a better understanding. 2 nd Surrogacy

I am almost 8 months out from having my first surrogate baby. I am happy to announce that I am well on my way to being a 2 time surrogate. I am so excited and can not wait to get started again. Being a surrogate makes me feel so good and the joy I bring to peoples lives in completely incredible. I would like to Thank all my supporters.   

Sorry for late update

On Nov 13th at 10:40pm I gave birth to Itay(e-tie), He was 7lbs 16oz and 18in long. The birth went great I was in labor for a little over 12 hours. I cut his cord, It was since a thing to do.

I was able to start nursing right away. His parents met him the next night due to delivering him early, they traveled over 30 hours to get the Reno. The baby and I were discharged on the 15th. I went and stayed with my couple and the baby till 18th. It was so great to see my couple and this little baby become a family. Its was so sweet watching them with him. I helped feed him and take care of him, he was so sweet and I loved having spent time with just him for the first few days. I had such a great experience has a surrogate.

I would defiantly be a surrogate again. Thank you all so much for your support!!!!

37 week update

I know its been a while since I have done an update. A lot has been going on in my life in the last 8 weeks. Let me start, 3 days into my 30th week, I was sick with the flu and ended up in the hospital with contractions for being sick. I was put on bed rest for about 2 weeks. I had contractions off and on for a week in a half. My thyroid levels had dropped and that was a other reason for not feeling well. Its was a tough few weeks, I had started to feel better for about a week. At 34 weeks I had started to swell in my hands, legs and feet. I went to the doctor found out that my blood pressure was on the high side, so I was told I was developing preeclampsia.  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pre-eclampsia. I was than told I need to be seen by my doctor twice a week for the rest of the pregnancy. My blood pressure stayed borderline high till my 36th week. My blood pressure had dropped which was a good thing, well than there was protein starting to show up in my urine. which is just another thing to add to the list of things that could go wrong. Three days ago I had a doctor's appointment and found out that I have a UTI http://americanpregnancy.org/pregnancy-complications/urinary-tract-infections-during-pregnancy/. So today I went to the specialist to check the baby's growth which is something I have had done since 12 weeks. Well found out baby is on the lower side on weight and low on amniotic fluid. http://americanpregnancy.org/pregnancy-complications/oligohydramnios/. They measured baby at 5lbs and 14oz, he is a week behind where he should be. So my doctor told me that it is not safe to stay pregnant. The placenta has stop giving the baby nutrients, that is what has stopped the baby's growth. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Placental_insufficiency. I will be going into the hospital at 8am in the morning to be induced, I will be having him 3 weeks early. If I waited to long to have him there could be a lot problems. If we waited we could be risking his life. I am hoping for a fast labor and delivery. I hope baby is nice and healthy and needs to spend no time in the NICU.



I am starting to feel at this point,  I have gone through so much to be a surrogate. Everything that could have gone wrong has. I have never had complications during any of my pregnancy, so this has been a learning experience for me.  This has been such a rewarding and unexpected experience. I am so proud of what I am doing and so happy to be able to help my couple have a baby.

3rd trimester

 

 

 

We are getting closer now, we are entering the last trimester. Meatball is starting to get bigger now!

He should be about 2 lbs and still gaining! He is such a active baby, he will keep his Mom and Dad very busy.

 

Everyone keeps asking me, "How is it to be pregnant with someone else's baby" I just to tell everyone that it is not weird for me, It really is amazing. There is no pressure on me to get anything ready, I have nothing to prep for. I only need to make sure I am taking care of myself and making sure he is doing great. I have enjoyed this pregnancy so much. It has gone by so fast. It is fun being apart of something like this. I do what I can to make sure his parent's are enjoying this pregnancy too. I love sending them pictures of our ultrasounds and belly pictures. They are getting so excited! They are getting his room ready of him. They are still thinking of names.  

I am really looking forward to sharing his birth with them. I cant wait t meet this little guy and seeing him complete his family.
